MOTOR HORSEPOWER
In order to relate the motor horsepower to apparent power,
multiply the horsepower by .746 (Conversion Factor--hp to watts)
and divide by the motor efficiency.

Where:
| HP | = | motor horsepower |
 | = | efficiency of motor |
| P.F. | = | power factor of motor |
HORSEPOWER REQUIREMENTS FOR PUMPS
 | = | differential pressure across a pump in psi |
| GPM | = | the required flow rate in gallons per minute |
 | = | pump efficiency |
SYNCHRONOUS SPEED BY NUMBER OF POLES
| POLES | 60 CYCLES | 50 CYCLES |
| 2 | 3600 | 3000 |
| 4 | 1800 | 150 |
| 6 | 1200 | 1000 |
| 8 | 900 | 750 |
| 10 | 720 | 600 |
